- Captained B.E. College cricket team in 1982-83.
- Represented I.I.T. Kanpur in Inter-IIT sports Meet (cricket & volleyball) in 1984.
- Participated in several All India Radio (Calcutta) Science Quiz Programmes.
- Represented I.I.T.-Kharagpur (cricket) at the Inter-IIT Staff Meet in 1986-87.
